Bev Armstrong has been involved in HIV causes since 1987. Over the years she has worked with the AIDS Quilt display, the World AIDS Day Candlelight Vigil as well as AIDS walks, and buddy programs in North San Diego County. As a certified Nurse Practitioner she left her longtime job with Planned Parenthood to work for Kaiser Permanente in Woodland Hills as a HIV case manager and later in Oakland as the HIV training and education coordinator. She currently resides in Oregon working as a hospice nurse and volunteering to facilitate a HIV support group for people with HIV in Southern Oregon.
For her 60th birthday celebration she is planning walks in all the communities she has lived and worked in to raise much needed funds. Bev’s first walk will take place in the East Bay scheduled for Saturday October 9th at 10 o’clock. It will be six miles of fun walking and talking, followed by a light lunch and birthday cake!
