The past month has opened the eyes of many to what WORLD, as an organization dedicated to supporting women living with HIV and AIDS, has always known – racism is a public health issue. From police violence, to nutrition justice, to medical healthcare, across every sector of a society that purports to provide equal protections to its citizens – people of color, and Black people specifically, are not supported by the system.
As an affiliate of the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, we are proud to be a part of the #StandAgainstHate initiative, which stands in solidarity by raising awareness, sharing resources, and elevating Black voices across various platforms. You can find more information at the website Stand Against H8. We also encourage you to check out Black Women’s Health Imperative, an organization that has worked for years to advance Black women’s right to holistic health.
