Kaiser Permanente is a member of We Care for California (WCCA), a new coalition dedicated to making our state a leader in health care access, quality, and affordability through the responsible and successful implementation of the Affordable Care Act.
One of WCCA’s first objectives is to support the expansion of Medi-Cal and the rollback of the proposed 10 percent Medi-Cal provider rate cut that is currently being litigated in court. Assembly Bill 900 and Senate Bill 640 propose to restore $1 billion in imminent funding cuts to the Medi-Cal budget. As you know, low-income families across California depend on Medi-Cal to cover their most basic health care needs
These bills prevent unsustainable cuts to Medi-Cal providers including physicians, dentists, pharmacists, pharmacies, home medical equipment, durable medical equipment, orthotics and prosthetics, HIV/AIDS care, nursing homes, ambulances and air ambulances.
While the need for the passage of these bills is great, it is not a foregone conclusion as the state faces its budget challenge. So, the coalition is organizing a rally on June 4th in support of these bills that is planned to be the largest gathering of health care providers, first responders and financers in California history.
We are inviting you to attend the rally with us. Kaiser is providing transportation. Please see the website below!
