Today, WORLD observes National Caribbean-American HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. Caribbean-American communities experience significant health disparities and insufficient access to needed health care: HIV/AIDS rates among these communities reflect these facts, and play a part in HIV/AIDS being the leading cause of death among African Americans between the ages of 25 and 44 statistically. Let us stand with our sisters and brothers in the Caribbean-American communities and use this day as an opportunity to raise awareness continually going forward.
