Gina Quattrochi was a fierce woman working to better the lives of those living with HIV and the WORLD family is saddened by the news of her passing on December 13th.
Gina was CEO of Bailey House for 25 years. During her time at Bailey House, Gina played an influential role in making Bailey House into one of the leading organizations in HIV/AIDS care and supportive housing. Her work helped establish the link between homelessness and the incidence of HIV infection. This approach stressed the need for a combination of stable housing and access to health care to achieve improved long term well-being.
During her 30 years of service to the HIV community, Gina was recognized and honored by many groups, organizations and institutions for her work. Most recently, the New York Public Health Department celebrated her work in advocacy and Bridging Access to Care at their annual gala.
WORLD sends its condolences to Bailey House and Gina’s family on her passing. We know that her legacy will live on for generations through her advocacy for those living with HIV. We stand with you as we mourn this loss to the community while also celebrating and drawing inspiration from her work and accomplishments.
