WORLD Welcomes Ingrid Floyd to Lead the Agency into the Future

On behalf of AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) and Women Organized to Respond to Life-threatening Diseases (WORLD), we are pleased to announce the appointment of Ingrid Floyd as Interim Executive Director, following the departure of Carla Dillard Smith.

Ms. Floyd holds an M.B.A. and has been the Executive Director of Iris House, located in New York since 2006. She is responsible for the administrative and fiscal oversight of the agency, its programs, and its staff, and brings over 20 years of combined expertise from both the business and non-profit sectors. Under Ms. Floyd’s direction, Iris House has grown its programs and services and has improved its visibility in the community with the introduction of the Women as the Face of AIDS Summit, held for the past fifteen years to bring increased awareness to policymakers, funders and providers on the needs of women living with HIV/AIDS.

Ms. Floyd has been able to secure millions of dollars in federal and private funding for the agency as well has expanded Iris House into new geographies, including New Jersey and a co-located healthcare center with AHF in the underserved community of the South Bronx. Ms. Floyd has extensive management experience from Deloitte Consulting working with small to large organizations implementing organization change, improving operations and enhancing customer service and marketing. Ms. Floyd is dedicated to improving the lives of underserved women and families, especially those impacted by HIV. She is a member of the NJ HIV Planning Group and served on NY Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Task Force to End the Epidemic.

“I am excited about the opportunity to help WORLD develop its strategic vision, expansion of programs and services, while providing stability for organization operations and programs” said Ms. Floyd on taking the new role.  “I know my expertise in working with and on behalf of women of color living with HIV will guide the work as we build on the foundation WORLD has in the Bay Area community.”  We are excited that Ms. Floyd has agreed to serve in this capacity as we continue to reintroduce WORLD to the world and as we hold true to the commitment of lifting, empowering and supporting all the women and families (both cis and those with live trans experience) that we serve.
